Netflix Presents Trigger Warning Featuring Killer Mike: The Atlanta Viewing Party

Last night in the dimly lit Club Boogalou, some of Atlanta’s brightest and well-known personalities began to pile in eager to get a peek of the highly awaited Netflix special Trigger Warning featuring the well respected social leader and ½ of the mega group Run the Jewels, Killer Mike. On the tables and bars, were popcorn adorned with trigger warning packaging, free photo booth access, and Trigger Warning t-shirts up for grabs for all attendees. If you are familiar with Killer Mike you may have witnessed his ability to seamlessly connect his artform with socio-political issues. His message to challenge the system to operate equally for all citizens takes on a new life in the thought-provoking and unexpectedly comical Trigger Warning.

To be triggered in our current society is becoming just as normal as your morning ritual. If you don’t have a side of outrage with your morning coffee, are you really living? Some have become obsessed with news that incites their emotions causing them to spin into a rage controlled by things that often does not affect them directly. An issue guaranteed to trigger many is socio-economic equality. Ideals that encourage progression within disenfranchised communities are sure to cause an uproar for those protective of the advantages they receive due to disproportionate factors. KM approaches these hot button issues in an eloquently innovative way sure to invoke reactions on all ends of the emotional spectrum.

In this new refreshing take on activism, Mike challenges the status quo by being direct and altering how we view certain groups and ideas. In between each episode Mike addressed the crowd with a witty synopsis which heightened the interest of what was to follow. Within the audience, influential minds from the likes of Kenny Burns, Big Boi of Outkast, and Eric Sermon watched quietly and intently proving the show will spark the minds of visionary thinkers everywhere.
